During its century-long existence, New Holland has seen many changes in management and has acquired a vast amount of smaller businesses and branches.
Started in 1895 by Abe Zimmerman in New Holland, Pa., as the New Holland Machine Company, the company specialized in agricultural machinery including New Holland tractors.
Today its products range from New Holland lawn tractors and New Holland farm tractors as well as other construction equipment.
New Holland tractors was purchased by the electronics equipment company the Sperry Corporation in 1947 to form Sperry-New Holland. This would be the first of many mergers for New Holland tractors throughout the decades. When New Holland became the majority shareholder of Claeys of Belgium, the company expanded its manufacturing to include combines and lawn equipment.
Later the automobile conglomerate Ford acquired New Holland who then sold the company to Fiat. Fiat continued to increase the size of the company in the 1990s by purchasing other companies such as the Versatile Tractor Company and construction equipment manufacturers O & K (Orenstein & Kopel). Fiat made a final purchase of Case IH in 2000 to form the present day CNH Global. Today CNH Global continues to carry on the New Holland tradition by producing numerous types of construction and farm equipment.
New Holland tractors are equipped to handle the harshest conditions in any field and have various makes and models to suit the needs of any customer. One popular model of New Holland tractor is the four-wheel drive TJ models such as the TJ275, TJ280, TJ325 and TJ330. These models range from 275 to 530 horsepower engines to assure the customer high-quality performance and increased durability.
Smaller New Holland tractor models include the TG tractor models including the TG210, TG245, TG275 and TG305. These models come equipped with 170 to 255 horsepower engines for every imaginable farm and agricultural need.
